Not a bad little tune, but don’t you think they ruined the video by the low resolution shots of the band at eye level? It made the video look very cheap and took away from the effect of the 360 reflector ball effect. Personally I wouldn’t have cut away from that shot, or if I did, I’d intersperse it with random images. To me, it’s like a director deliberately showing a green-screen in part of a movie.
To be honest, I quite liked it and the tune is a belter. And I think the revelation of the technique just makes it all the more amusing to see what cool effects can be had so simply
And I thought it was ME who was all Scrooge like at this time of year?
Yes, because having an opinion that seeks betterment is exactly the definition of being “Scrooge like” >_> You can argue about the artistic merits of removing the 4th wall (we already knew how the shot worked from the “mystery object” sitting in the middle of the image), but I don’t know why they didn’t use a handheld camera with a similar video definition. It totally ruined the higher definition shots for me. Even if they went with B&W it would have at least looked deliberate as opposed to unprofessional. I’m just saying is all… :-p
