MOTU MachFive 3 – C’est Arrivé!

This lunchtime, whilst I was tucking in to a bowl of Mrs Muso’s yummy homemade Tom Yum Gai, the postman delivered something equally lovely, courtesy of my friends at UVI. MOTU’s MachFive 3 Sampler.

Have to say, it’s really nice to get a software package in a proper box for a change! And with a fully printed manual!! And with 7 extra DVD’s of content totalling over 45GB, it’s hefty in size in more ways than one!

I can’t wait to start digging into it. On first impressions, it’s slick, simple to use out of the box and is way more user friendly than Kontakt. It comes in Windows & Mac formats, 32 & 64bit, and uses the iLok for protection, which means you can install it wherever you like and you can just pop the key in on whichever computer you want to run it on. I’m also very keen to see how it copes with converting other libraries, as it claims to be quite capable in that respect.

I’ll be using this to complete my IRCAM Prepared Piano & The Beast reviews, and will probably do a review of it on its own. I really think it deserves one.
