SOS Podcast – Manny Fernandez
Those that know me know that I have a rather unhealthy obsession with FM synthesis and, mostly, Yamaha’s implementation of it. So when it came to picking guests for my podcasts, I was naturally drawn towards people involved in that history. And for my third episode, I was beyond delighted to get to speak with Manny Fernandez, a man who has worked on almost every Yamaha synth since the DX7-IID/FD right up to today’s Montage, MODX and RefaceDX.
His FM patches are still hugely inspirational and highly sought after, particularly those he programmed for Sound Source Unlimited, a company that thrived on the new era of third party presets.
Manny’s knowledge and history is fascinating and even though this podcast clocks in at just over an hour, it could have been much longer!
