Those that know me or pay attention know that I work for a company that started life as a recording studio and manufacturer of mixing desks before turning it’s attentions to software development. Our chairman, and the company’s co founder, Geoff Frost, is well respected in many lofty circles and he can boast an artist roster second to very few (John Cale, Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, Incredible String Band, Jethro Tull, John Martyn, Pentangle, Pink Floyd, Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny and Steeleye Span) during that transitional period in British pop music during the late 60’s and early 70’s.

So, in 1964, Sound Techniques was born and whilst we no longer make mixing desks, we do still have a state of the art studio nestled in the wilds of North Norfolk as well as the core business of software development in Bury St. Edmunds. Geoff’s son, Matt, a prolific and very talented writer on the music tech scene, has started a Facebook group to collate and focus what is still a very keen public interest in Sound Techniques and it’s history.
