Wavelight from BITLEY™

Ok, so maybe I bang on about BITLEY™ and their incredible Reason ReFills a bit more than some of you may like, but hey, they’re my favourite ReFills EVER and no, I don’t get paid to say that either (wish I did, I’d be minted by now!)

Anyway, when Patrick first released these, I asked him about alternative formats. I mean, love Reason as I do, not everyone else uses it and he would certainly have a market if he released these in other formats. He assured me that this was in the pipeline but nothing ever emerged, apart from the fabulous ReFills.

Fast forward to today and this situation has been somewhat rectified! Patrick has just launched the Wavelight series. Essentially, these are sample packs of Fairlight samples but released in .WAV or .AIFF format, with no looping. Just the clean, raw materials for you to build your Fairlight library in the sampler/ROMpler of your choice. I’ll let Patrick explain….

Introducing the Wavelight series

Wavelight is the series of pure Fairlight disks sampled in 44,1 khz / 16 bit fidelity. These are the same samples used in our refill ‘Bitley Supersonic / Fairlight CMI Legacy II’. Please note: The original Fairlight sounds are 8 bit samples. Therefore, 16 bits is fully sufficient to completely copy the Fairlight IIx sound for any sound source, be it an old hardware sampler or any music software application. Every effort has been made to maintain the purity of the Fairlight tone yet keeping noise level to a minimum. All sounds are normalized. The loop points have not been set in the wave files, for your own maximum flexibility with the sounds.

All sounds comes in both AIFF and WAV formats. The price for each Wavelight sample pack is $7. Watch this space for further updates and add-ons.

WAVELIGHT 1 – BASS

This disk contains no multi samples. All samples are recorded at middle C, for being easily laid out on any sampling instrument.
