Reason 6 Announced!

About 45 minutes ago, Propellerheads announced Reason 6. The big news here is that Record is dead. But don’t worry. It’s simply been completely integrated into Reason, which is all Record was anyway 🙂 I’m sure that all Record users, like me, rarely even opened up Reason, choosing to live in the far more powerful Record world. So this is good stuff as far as I’m concerned. Essentially, it’s Reason that has died, and Record has just been rebranded 😉 Either way, the best music production software I’ve ever used just got a whole lot better!

They’ve also announded Reason Essentials, although this was already on the radar, but the big surprise here is the announcement of Balance, a 2 In/2 Out Audio Interface with some dedicated audio recording functionality that also doubles up as your Ignition Key (Propellerheads Copy Protection System).

I’ve only just read the headlines and am currently doing the day job, but this is exciting news for existing Propellerheads users and I’ll be sure to follow up on this as soon as I get my hands on a Beta copy or, better still, the full blown version 🙂
