Carol of the Doorbells

Seven years ago, I put together a little ‘Thank You’ video to pay my respects to the numerous people who had helped me that year on keeping this blog going.

I’ve wanted to follow that up in some way ever since but never got around to it. But last week I had a little idea to not only come up with a little Xmas ditty, but to poke some fun at those people who like to try and get a rise out of me by saying that my collection of Yamaha DX synths is just a bunch of expensive doorbells.

So instead of composing a tune myself, I thought I’d take one of my favourite seasonal tunes and give it the full on FM treatment!

Here is my small but perfectly formed Xmas gift to you all, the ‘Carol of the Doorbells’, performed on a variety of Yamaha FM synths, including the DX5, DX7-IIFD, DX11, TX7, TX81Z and the FS1R.
