Fairlight @ 40 – The Sound On Sound Seminar

Where has a month gone??? It only feels like this event happened the other weekend, but it has now officially been one month since I had the remarkable opportunity to stand up in front of an audience and talk about my passion, the Fairlight CMI, and interview the legend that is Steve Levine.

Anyway, a little bit later than I had hoped, the full video is now up on the Sound On Sound YouTube page and is presented here for your delectation. Before you tuck in, I feel I need to say that we had a few front-of-house technical issues on the day with the venue’s PA system taking a dump backstage just as I was about to start, so the guy who filmed and edited it all, Jamie Morden of Geosynths, had to do some clever editing to fix things up and make everything flow. He did a fantastic job and what you see is pretty much how I remember it. It has come out really well and I really hope you enjoy it and get something from it.

Oh, and while I have your attention, I will be attending an event at the Science & Media Museum in Bradford later this month, “Uncovering the Secrets of the Fairlight CMI” and have been asked to be involved somehow with the event, so if you can make it up to Bradford on November 23rd, do pop along and say hi!

And if you want more of what you’re about to see, plans are afoot to bring an expanded version of this to a wider audience around the country at some point soon. Watch this space!
