How “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” Changed My Life
The other week, I submitted an Audioboo to the BBC to go with their series on Radio 2 called “The People’s Songs: The Story of Modern Britain in 50 Records”. The subject under discussion on this particular episode was one very dear to my heart, that being the classic “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” by Gary Numan.
I shan’t recount the tale here in words as the BBC have done me the enormous honour of selecting it as the key submission by the general public on the matter!

Have to agree 100%! Was a very similar thing for me, as I was about 9 myself when I heard this song and just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. First heard and saw him on Top of the Pops and it was this sound, futuristic look that got me hooked. Have been playing Synths ever since.
