very frank and interesting interview ! I couldn’t agree more with your statements.. I’m also in my 40’s and seemed to cover the same music and experiences in our younger years..
Also, yes I did the ‘multitrack’ with 2 cassette tape recorders and a descant recorder ! I recreated the ‘Blue Peter’ Theme tune… without the guitars..

As you were talking about Fairlight albums, you should have mentioned “Erdenklang” by Hubert Bognermayr and Harald Zuschrader, which was a multitracked CMI series 1 (using MCL).
