ReBirth RB-338 Discontinued and made available for free !!

Those genius guys at Propellerheads have eventually decided to retire it’s legendary piece of music software, ReBirth RB-338.

In case you’ve just arrived on planet Earth or have been living in a deep, dark hole for the last 10 years, ReBirth was the first and best emulator of the legendary Roland TB-303 Bassline, TR-808 & TR-909 drum machines. I won’t wax lyrical too much because the newly created ReBirth Museum site does it way better.

Anyway, the Prop’s decided it had reached the end of the line, preferring to focus on it’s flagship product Reason, and no doubt other new projects. So, by ceasing development and support, they decided to make it freely available for download, along with 53 “Mods” (user modifications with new skins and sounds), the entire ReBirth song library (3899 of ’em) and some 3rd party tools. All of this is presented impeccably on the ReBirth Museum website, which contains histories, images and communities for users. They have also created a ReBirth Refill for Reason users which is also free to all registered users !

The site, as you can imagine, has been inundated with people downloading and has become very clogged up, but yesterday they issued a BitTorrent (My favourite Torrent client is Azureus) and I got my copy within a few hours.

So, get your ass over there and start making some choons !!

What do you mean, it’s only available to registered users of Propellerheads software. You mean you’re a musician and don’t own a piece of their software ??? Jeez ! ;o)
